ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 : The National Disaster Management Authority spokesman Amal Masood has said that NDMA would set up a special cell for flood-affected women and children with the help of UNICEF.
Talking to BBC, he said that the special cell set up with the help of UNICEF is aimed at providing all basic facilities including health to four million flood-affected women and children.
The NDMA spokesman said that the special cell is being set up keeping in view specific needs and requirements of the flood-affected women and children.
He said that three million flood-affected women including two million girls of tender age are in need of urgent medical facilities.
He added that age of one million children is below five and they need all kinds of basic facilities.
The NDMA spokesman said that Coordinators will be appointed in all flood-hit districts and they will also manage psychiatric problems of the flood-affected women and children.
